Bethany Riverview has been purpose-built so its home-like setting and programming are designed to best support residents with complex dementia. Your Care Services team is committed to working with you to ensure that the unique needs of your loved one are addressed safely and collaboratively.
Bethany Riverview is a special place for connecting, caring and community. The environment is specifically designed for people with dementia and their unique needs.
From the moment a resident comes through the door into their household, it should feel like coming home. Every household includes a common living, kitchen, dining and activity space where residents will gather. There is plenty of natural light, as well as brighter interior lights, that are easier on seniors’ eyes.
Other special features include a tv room, plenty of resting and quiet places and a sensory room for various therapies and activities designed to create positive feelings and a sense of contentment for residents.
Every neighborhood includes 30 private rooms with ensuites. Learn more about our room features. There are seven neighbourhoods at Bethany Riverview and two neighborhoods comprise a household.
We understand that the safety of your loved one is a top priority and we utilize technology to ensure every resident and family feels secure. At Bethany Riverview, our smart nurse call system with real-time location tracking is enabled to proactively address resident needs.
When a resident needs help, all they need to do is press the button on their pendant and an instant alert to staff members is sent which includes the details of who requested help, where they are located and the time of a call. At Bethany Riverview, help is always within reach.

Bethany Riverview brings the surrounding community together through public spaces and accessible amenities. The town hall-style main floor includes the Original Food Company offering delicious and affordable dine-in and takeaway nutritious food such as Starbucks® coffee, baked goods and themed meals. This main floor area also features a hair salon and other services available.

RIVERVIEW VILLAGE
A Seniors Campus of Care
Riverview Village is located in the area of Dover, in a well-maintained park-like setting close to bus routes, schools and shopping. With the addition of Bethany Riverview, we have created a campus of care where it’s our expertise and passion that comes to life in every interaction we have with each resident who calls Bethany home.
Through decades of experience, we have developed industry-leading approaches to senior care.
We believe all our residents are unique and that’s how we treat each person. Relationships are essential and we take a personal approach with each resident and client. We’re a place for caring and connection for seniors, families, friends and neighbours from the surrounding community.
A Community to Call Home
Riverview Village includes a tenant social club which holds regular meetings and hosts a variety of social events. Riverview Village is comprised of three unique buildings:
- Mikkelsen House offers 139 studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites that feature high ceilings and large windows with panoramic views of the city and mountains
- Wilkinson House offers studio and one-bedroom suites for adults 55+
- Kanerva House offers one-bedroom suites for adults 65+
We also provide a dedicated social worker to support our tenants and assist them in remaining independent by providing referrals to community agencies, as well as helping them to deal with specific issues and challenges.
